Effexor can make you feel strange when you start taking it. Remember this is a drug that is changing the chemicals in your brain and how they function. Talk to your Dr if the symptoms don't improve.
Effexor (venlafaxine) is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). Venlafaxine affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression. Effexor is used to treat major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder. An Effexor addiction can result when a person continues to abuse the drug in an attempt to get high (an intense euphoric reaction to a drug). .
