Having no shoes on, is the best feeling in the world. You do have to be careful though, I wouldn't want to step on something sharp. : ) Along time ago, people didn't have shoes to wear. And, in some countries people still walk around with no shoes. haha, so I think it has good and bad qualities. But being barefoot "forever"? Well, what about cold weather months, or if glass broke around you? I would love to have some kinda padding on my foot at those times.
