Well, there are a few reasons someone could be overweight. First, it maybe caused by your eating habits. Too many food that has fat can be a cause, plus no working out. Second, it can be caused by your genes. Wether it is your dad or mom. But if this is the cause, then the term 'overweight' wouldn't be correct.
There is somethings you could do. Go on a diet, but a healthy one. Don't starve yourself. Eat three times a day like usual, but with more vegetables on diet and meat without fat. Snacks could be reduced to once a day and drinking fruit or vegetable juice would be great. Do some work out that you would enjoy. Like jogging in the park, or swimming, anything that would make your body active!
An alternative if the overweight is really bad on your health (overweight people may have Asthma) you can have a surgery to suck the fat from certain parts of your body. But without a healthy diet and a good work out after the surgery the fat will come back again eventually.
