Drug classification is the level the drug is according to addictive properties.

Class 1-5. class one being street drugs with no therapuetic uses, class five being no addictive properties.

Drug indication is what the drug is used for and dosage.

drug classification is what type of drug it is (they are usually classified by their mechanism). the classification for ibuprofen is NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) or metoprolol is a blood pressure medication but its class is a beta blocker because it acts on beta receptors in the heart. the indication is what it is used for. the classification based on abuse potential is known as schedules. schedule I-V

Generally, drug class refers to the target area affected by the drug, how it effects the body, and its indication for use. An example: Antihypertensives and under that class would be ACE inhibitors, Beta-blockers, and Calcium channel blockers. Another would be antiinfectives and under this class would be antibiotics, antivirals, antifungal. There are many, drug classes and sub-classes.
