If you have had the hiccups, without rest, for 3 weeks, then you belong in a Doctor's office or even an emergency room!

You could have an infection. You would need some antibiotics along with whatever other medication the doctor deems necessary. While it seems like a mundane symptom, the hiccups are actually a good indicator- when they are occurring for more than 2 hours without stopping, of some type of infection in the body.

Even if there has been a "break" in your hiccups, I would recommend visiting or at least calling your doctor or clinic- ER, etc- to consult about why you would have hiccups for 21 days (even , as I said, if it is "on again off again") They will advise you!

Hiccups usually indicate indigestion or a gas bubble of some sort. This is why this could be an indicator of an infection or issue in your digestive system.

You ate too much. The hiccups happen because when you eat, air is sucked in and the only way for the air to escape is to either make you burp of hiccup.
