One of the by-products of benzodiazepine is Flunitrazepam, which was previously sold with the name of Rohypnol in North America. The features of this drug include anxiolytic effect, tranquilizing effect and skeletal muscle depressant quality.

It was used as high sedative agent in hospitals in the 1970s when it was originally produced by Roche. In 1975 it was released in the profitable market of Europe and it was sold in other nations from the 1980s.
