Usually nothing bad would happen. Most people can regulate potassium well enough to take a large load of extra potassium without ill effect. If the person had kidney problems or for some other problems regulating potassium it could lead to high levels which can cause abnormal heart rhythms and even (rarely) death.

Complication of intravenous fluid?

Infiltration and Extravasation are problems that can result from intravenous fluids. Infiltration is the leaking of the fluid into the tissue surrounding the vein. This happens when the tip of the catheter is no longer inserted in the vein, but is not removed from the patient. Extravasation is the leakage of vesicant fluids into the tissues. Vesicants are known to be more caustic and can cause burns.

Yes, they can. It certainly isn't a good thing to do and could create lots of problems for the company, but if the company is being shut down, they aren't going to hold it open because someone is in the hospital. There are laws about dismissal when someone is hospitalized due to a work related incident or disease. Depending on the situation, it could cause legal issues.

There is a good possibility that it is an indication of liver problems. We suggest you see a doctor. Be sure to tell him about your drinking history and whether or not you have been exposed to hepatitis -- perhaps via intravenous drug use. This is a serious situation. Do not wait.

Could kidney problems result in female infertility?

Yes. My girlfriend has had Kidney problems since she was very small. While i cannot tell you if its kidney disease or failure (Not sure if it matters) it DOES affect the ability for females to produce healthy and fertile eggs. It might just depend on the severity of the kidney infections (with my girlfriend she is hospitalized every month to two months, only because she refuses to take her medicine without being forced) But yes, kidney problems have a direct impact on female fertility.

Should capital punishment be introduced in Mauritius?

Apart from the moral problems and the limited evidence of effectiveness, there is also the undeniable fact that people are mistakenly convicted - around 1% in the USA is a widely accepted figure. If you accept capital punishment, then you have to accept that the state will execute innocent people.
