If by "throat closing", you mean anaphylaxis due to an allergic reaction, this can be fatal (and rather quickly). The best thing you can do if you have such severe Allergies is to carry an EpiPen or similar device with you at all times, and if the need to use it arises, administer the injection as soon as possible and call for emergency medical personnel.
If you simply mean swelling associated with a sore throat, just take an OTC anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofen) and see an MD for a strep test.
As a side note, NEVER take antibiotics for a sore throat if the strep test is negative and the sore throat isn't associated with another bacterial infection, even if your doctor Rxs them "to make you feel better". They do this because patients often demand "action" (ie, they paid for an office visit and don't want to leave empty-handed).
This gross overuse contributes to antibiotic resistance and we end up with things like MRSA ...and then VRSA. The overwhelming majority of sore throats have a viral cause, and will go away on their own without any treatment.
If it feels like it is closing and blocking your airway go straight to the emergency room. Follow up with your doctor afterwards as it may be related to a medical condition or even an allergic reaction. If you believe it is from an allergic reaction you could always take some benedryl on your way to the hospital
