To relieve a toothache, you can use pain relievers such as Tylenol or Aleve. Or, you can use over the counter oral anesthetics, such as Orajel. But the best thing to do for a toothache is visit a dentist.

Aching is due to a blood vessel swelling, you have to relax and breath normally (no matter how excruciating it is) then cold compress could help, put ice in to the part that is painful. Take a dose of pain killers, but it is highly recommended that you take ibuprofen (500mg) for it has lowest side effects that Aspirin.

In case you are suspecting of a third molar growth, go see dentist.

If you are suspecting of a tooth decay, take Mefenamic Acid (500mg) this reduces the swelling, and Antibiotics such as Amoxicillin(500mg) this fights the bacteria thus helping in reducing the swelling.

But the best thing you to is to your dentist.
