There are a few specific illnesses that cause one's body to sleep more:

anemia, leukemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, brain tumors to name a few; but there are also a few diseases that cause one to sleep: when one is bitten by a TseTse Fly the result in often what is commonly referred to as "sleeping sickness" and another is if one is a narcoleptic.
