The above answer is correct - one usually does feel better after throwing up, but that's because once you do throw up, you do usually feel better immediately afterwards. At least until the next wave of nausea hits, as in the case of a stomach bug.

If you know for sure you're going to throw up, then head for the nearest restroom or exit. But if it's just a case of nausea then applying a cold compress to the back of your neck or on your throat can help. Also, licking a few grains of regular table salt can help, too.
