Also many crew members die from Scurvy, a disease caused from low vitamin C in your diet. Scurvy lowers the crew members giving a small crew.

Sailors faced the fact that pirates might attack or threaten to attack their ship even though the chances were not very high. There is also a chance that the crew on the ship might get a disease called scurvy. Scurvy is a disease that is caused when people have low vitamin C. This can make the sailers sick or even kill the sailors who are exploring.
