Pattern variables.It refers to how differently people react to an action.For example if a begger appears then one person may react as to how the begger has come,while the second person may be sympathetic but hasitate to offer any alms,however a third may give some money to buy momentery peace,while fourth person may take him to a food-shop to allow him to eat as much as he can,like -wise human beings do not have fixed scale of reactions which may vary from various reasons ,moods,class,country ,races and innumerable factors.
