Zypan is a dietary supplement consisting of Betaine hydrochloride, Cystol, pancreatin, pepsin, ammonium chloride, bovine spleen, and ovine spleen. This supplement is used to aid the digestive system. Most of the ingredients in Zypan are produced naturally by the human body. However, when your digestive system is not working correctly, the above items are not produced in a large enough quantity.

Does zypan help acid reflux?

Yes, Zypan will help by supplying more acid. Zypan contains betaine hydrocloride and pancreatic enzymes. Acid reflux is caused, more than likely, by not enough stomach acid, causing the esophageal sphincter to relax and allow stomach acid to rise out of the stomach. That is why you feel the burning. I took Mylanta for many years for indigestion not knowing I needed more stomach acid instead of less. Since taking Zypan, I have not taken any OTC drugs for indigestion or acid reflux. What does Zypan do for the kidneys?

More often: having to urinate often (urinary frequency). Also seen: painful urination (dysuria), inability to hold your urine (urinary incontinence) or inability to urinate at all (urinary retention) . All of these are very rare.
