I have no clue, but I strongly urge you to go to the hospital to let them tell you. If you haven't already done so. Hopefully everything works out for you. I sometimes get a sharp pain on the top of my head but don't feel any liquids. I sometimes feel a slight headache.

What is flooding point?

In a packed or tray column where you have vapor flowing up and liquid flowing down, there is an upper limit to how fast the liquid can drain downwards. The point at which liquid cannot flow down as fast as it is coming into the column is the "flooding point". The actual flooding point is partly dependent on how fast the liquid can flow down with no vapor flowing upwards and the rate at which vapor is trying to flow upwards. Cross sections of the column occupied by vapor are not available for liquid flow - effectively reducing the cross-section for downward flow of the liquid. You also get entrainment of liquid in the upward flowing vapor and drag on the liquid as it fights the direction of the vapor flow - the vapor wants to go up while the liquid wants to go down. This additional drag also slows down the flow of liquid trying to drain downward in the column. There is an analogous condition for two-phase liquid/liquid extraction columns.

What is liquid holdup in a column?

'Liquid Hold-up' in a distillation column refers to down-coming liquid (liquid traffic travelling down the column) becoming trapped in the column's packing material. Packing material is used in distillation columns to increase the contact efficiency between the down-coming liquid stream(s) and the up-flowing vapour stream(s). The packing materials do this by increasing the surface-to-volume ratio over which the vapour and liquid streams come into contact in order to promote separation between the more volatile and less volatile components in the column. The down-coming liquid can become trapped in the packing material for a number of reasons. One example is when liquid becomes trapped in crack formations or fractures of the packing material (which can occur during normal or non-steady state column operation). When the liquid becomes trapped in these cracks/crevices, contact with the up-flowing vapour stream becomes non-existent and the liquid is literally 'held up' from travelling down the column.

Does lungs absorb food and liquid that goes down into lungs?

No. Food and liquids should not go down into the lungs. That is why one coughs excessively when food or liquid "goes down the wrong tube." Aspiration is the term for breathing food or liquid into the lungs, and frequently causes a severe pneumonitis and may result in pneumonia.

Why do you think sudden coughing while drinking is a useful reflex action to a person?

If the liquid goes down the wind pipe, coughing will prevent it from going into the lungs where it can make you sick.

Why do you cough when a piece of food goes the wrong way?

That is called the 'Gag Reflex'. The reflex prevents any liquid or solid food from getting into the lungs by going down the wrong (the Esophagus and not the Trachea).

What is flooding in distilation?

As the reflux minimizes and heat energy remains to same that time sudden increase in pressure drop takes place. As the vapour flow is higher compared to liquid flow so liquid is unable to comes down through downcomer and flooding occurs......
