Much of "A Good Man is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor is exposition and description of the mundane vacation of a family. The rising action comes when they get into a car accident and are stranded near the woods. A criminal known as the Misfit and his companions find them and the grandmother pleads for her life until the climax, when he shoots her in the chest after killing the rest of the family.
