Minny is a funny, bold woman who has no problem speaking her mind. She struggles with an obvious tendency to talk back to people and being sarcastic. She is down to earth, strong and prideful. She doesn't let people get away with anything. Under her ''tough'' disposition is a set of moral values based on love, desire for freedom and desire for a better life for her children (and herself). She is vulnerable, being the victim of psychological abuse as an african american help (nanny/maid), and physical abuse as a wife. She's a loyal and benevolent friend, and is brave as well.
