most of the dreams have nothing to do with reality, one part of mind still works when we sleep, it can access the recent or those memories that put some great impact in our life, and try to give you some pictures, just like printing memory from hard disk of computer without using any search algorithm it may give you garbage or unrelated sequences of memories or your own feelings, sometimes they can give you an indication too, like you haven't prepare well for exam and you are tensed, there is a good chance of having bad dream of your poor percentage in your exam, but again dreams are much nearer to emotions rather then any kind of future telling mechanism.
