The recommended dosage for Phentermine is one dose per day, however, if you feel jittery or nervous by taking the entire tablet in one dose, it can be divided and taken in two doses. Phentermine is meant to be used short-term (12 weeks), however, your doctor may choose to prescribe it longer depending on your own unique situation. Your Physician may choose to increase the dose to one tablet taken twice daily, if necessary. The maximum dosage is considered to be three tablets (37.5 mg) daily, and is rarely recommended or well-tolerated. Usual dose of Phentermine is 1 capsule or tablet a day before breakfast or up to 2 hours after breakfast (hour before breakfast is the ideal time to take Phentermine). To prevent side effects, phentermine should be taken with meals. There are some tablets that can be crushed and mixed with food.
