Sitting or standing in one spot when you are hunting is referred to as posting. The spot may change and it offers a vantage point to animal trails. The strategy is to let the animal come to you.
Still Hunting
The strategy used when waiting for a game while sitting or standing in one spot is often referred to as "camping." This approach involves remaining in a single location to gain a strategic advantage, such as monitoring the environment and ambushing unsuspecting players. Camping can be effective in certain situations, but it may also be seen as a passive tactic that can draw criticism from other players.
The hunting strategy that requires you to sit or stand in one spot is known as "still hunting" or "stand hunting." This method involves remaining motionless, often at a designated location such as a tree stand or blind, to wait for game to come into view. By minimizing movement and noise, hunters can increase their chances of spotting animals without alarming them. Patience is key in this strategy, as it may take time for wildlife to appear.
