Hiatal hernia is a condition in which a portion of the stomach protrudes upward into the chest, through an opening in the diaphragm. The diaphragm is the sheet of muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen. It is used in breathing.
Curved portion , thoracic aorta and abdominal aorta .
abdominal aorta The Abdominal aorta is the longest section of the aorta, beginning at the diaphragm and spanning the abdominal cavity. The Thoracic and abdominal aorta together make up the descending aorta.
The aorta consists of : the ascending aorta, the arch of the aorta, the thoracic portion of the descending aorta, and the abdominal portion of the descending aorta.
The ascending aorta is the first part of the aorta that rises from the heart, while the thoracic aorta is the portion of the aorta that extends from the top of the heart to the diaphragm. The ascending aorta is smaller and carries oxygenated blood away from the heart, while the thoracic aorta is larger and branches into various arteries that supply oxygenated blood to different parts of the body.
The heart.
The portion of the pleura external to the pulmonary pleura lines the inner surface of the chest wall, covers the diaphragm, and is reflected over the structures occupying the middle of the thorax
abdominal aorta is the portion of the descending aorta inferior to the diaphragm. it passes thru a hole in the diaphragm called aortic hiatus
thymus
The spinal nerves that originate from the thoracic portion of the spinal cord don't form plexuses. The word thoracic pertains to the thorax.
The dome-shaped portion of the stomach just beneath the diaphragm is called the fundus. It is located in the upper left portion of the stomach and is responsible for storing and mixing ingested food before releasing it into the rest of the stomach for digestion.
