it depends on what you dye them with. and what colour. and what shampoo you use...
you need a lot of dye because dreadlocks are like sponge - they absorb a lot!
if you use permanent dye it will stay much longer than semi-permanent or temporary.
if you bleach the dreads before the color will be better if it's something like red, green, blue, purple...
then follow the instructions on the box...
and don't wash your hair too often, the color will stay longer.
a lot of dreadlock shampoos are very strong and they make the dye go away quickly, especially dr bronners. you may want to use a softer shampoo...

Locs
Same thing how we dye our hair, not difficult ------------------------ that is incorrect I have had locs for over 5 years now and when you dye your locs do not start at the beginning then work your way to the back. the front of your dreads will end up a different color than your back. also you do not want to use the conditioner that comes in the box because this will soften your locs depending on how many times you dye your hair or wash on a regular basis. you will need extra dye as they soak up alot. dying can be damaging, so if you can avoid it you should. some herbs can be used to lighten or darken hair.
Interlocking is a great method for locking hair. Sisterlocs trademark locs and other thin locs often use this method because it makes the locs stronger. You do not need much product and interlocking works on most hair textures.
Faux locs, also known as imitation locs, are a hairstyle that mimics the appearance of natural dreadlocks without the long-term commitment. They are typically created using synthetic or human hair extensions that are wrapped around the individual's natural hair. The extensions are secured tightly to create a rope-like texture, giving the illusion of authentic locs.
As Far as Loc Extensions, many people want Loc extensions that can go beyond temporary style and actually help your sprouting locs grow without weighing them down. The locs out there tend to be very heavy and are just palmed rolled which can take hours to build and attach. Our patented Loc-ing techniques are not used in any other salon, you will never find extensions that look, act and feel so natural! Our locs are made to last 2-3 years so you can grow your locks while enjoying the style years in advance. The key is a light weight, strong, durable and natural looking human hair loc. That wont weigh your hair down and damage your sprouting locs. We hand craft the loc and then process it in several different ways to intertwine the hairs. This makes a loc that is extremely STRONG & LIGHT. This technique uses less hair and creates a loc that doesnt just look like a real dread... it is a real dread! We do not rely on any gels, oils or bonding agents in our process, to give you a light & clean start. Locs are delivered to you at home, your local stylist or you can request a Khinky Chic Stylist for expert attachment and styling.
