Scabies is caused by an mite burrowing under the skin. It is VERY infectious. Scabies mites are called Sarcoptes scabiei.

You need to visit a qualified medical practitioner if you think you have Scabies. Over the counter or home medicines are NOT STRONG ENOUGH to treat the condition. The two most widely used treatments for scabies are Permethrin 5% cream and Malathion 0.5% lotion. (You keep the lotion/cream on for 24 hours without washing it off). The cream/lotion needs to be applied all over - you may need a third party help to reach some places where you can not apply the cream/lotion yourself - you must not miss a bit!.
