Remicaine Jelly is a medical preparation of a lubricant gel with a low dose of local anaesthetic (lignocaine = lidocaine). The base is similar to KY jelly.
It is used in various medical procedures, usually minimally invasive, where a combination of lubrication and local anaesthesia is required, such as performing a rectal/anal or vaginal examination, inserting a catheter into the stomach via the nose, or into the bladder via the urethra, inserting a ventilation tube (endotracheal) into an airway during a general anaesthetic, inserting an endoscope into any body cavity, eg. the upper or lower gastrointestinal tract, the bladder, the vagina etc.
It usually is supplied in a metallic tube in a cardboard box (contents sterile, packaging non-sterile) with a spiked cap that breaks the sterile seal over the opening and an accompanying plastic nozzle that can be fitted onto the opening for insertion into the male urethra to aid delivery of the jelly into the urethra.
Further information will probably be easier to find by searching for topical lidocaine or lignocaine. Remicaine is a proprietary name of the preparation by AI Pharm. It is available in South Africa under this name, but is probably marketed under different names elsewhere..
