In plain terms, pathophysiology (which is exactly the same as physiopathology!) is concerned with either the bodily function changes that cause an illness or the bodily function changes that the illness causes.

Pathophysiology is the study of the changes of normal mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions, either caused by a disease, or resulting from an abnormal syndrome. More formally, it is the branch of medicine which deals with any disturbances of body functions, caused by disease or prodromal symptoms...guess it would depend on the disease!
