A closure happens in a relationship when you stop caring about the person. You stop taking care of the Likes and Dislikes of the person. Do Annoying things that irritate your partner. Various factors are there which lead to close a relationship sometimes forever and ever. You Stop charming him or her or pampering him or her. For example, after a relationship ends, you feel there are issues which still need to be dealt with, such as if your boyfriend broke up with you, but never told you why, you wouldn't feel you had 'closure'. But if he tells you why, and you know he's telling the truth, then it helps you to have closure you need to move on and get over it. Or, if he left you for another woman and you feel you never got the chance to say the things to him you wanted and needed to say, you may need to do that in order to feel you have closure.
Another example would be if a loved one was murdered and the body not found, most people wouldn't feel they had closure until they were able to find and bury their loved one. It would also be the same way with the one who killed them. Even if you were able to bury your loved one, you may not feel you had closure until the one responsible for their death was convicted of that crime and sent to prison.
To sum it up, closure simply means feeling there are no 'loose ends' which need to be tied up in order to move on.
