An endocrinologist is a medical Doctor Who specializes in diseases of the endocrine system. The endocrine system is made up of endocrine glands such as the adrenal glands, the pancreas, the thyroid, ovaries, and testicles that

produce hormones.

Some of these glands produce other substances like enzymes (pancreas produces amylase ) in different cells than the ones that produce hormones.
