Hypertension- high blood pressure. (Hypotension- low blood pressure)
High blood pressure is the pressure that is placed in your arteries when the heart pumps your blood. High blood pressure is an above average pressure that could eventually lead to things like strokes or heart attacks. Blood pressure is broke down by systolic and diastolic. Systolic readings are normally the higher of the two pressures when getting your blood pressure taken. If your systolic is lower than your diastolic then you probably aren't reading this and maybe in the hospital or even dead. Diastolic is the pressure left over in the arterie after the heart refills for another pump. Giving you a lower reading. Normal blood pressure should range around 140/80. If it is higher than that it would be a good idea to start an exercise program and diet.
