What is Gamapentin?

I'm pretty positive it's spelled gabapentin, it is used to treat seizure disorders but it is also used to treat nerve pain, I am currently on it three times a day for sciatic damage, it can cause drowsiness so I take it only at bed time even though I'm prescribed it three times a day
