Amphetamine (and it's more clandestine derivative, methamphetamine) is a chemical compound, not a mixture of ingredients, so it is the only ingredient to amphetamine. There are many different methods of synthesizing it, but the end product is always the same. When it's made in a medical lab for medical purposes the purity is high and the product is generally safe if taken as directed and not abused.
Clandestine cooks making meth for non-medical purposes, of course, are famous for creating it using shoddy methods and unsanitary conditions.
