Technology can allow quicker diagnosis which allows early treatment thus saving more lives. Newer technology allows better treatments and higher success rates of cure or slowing progression of the disease process.

Technology in some cases saves money for the public but in other cases increases cost due to use of newer more costly technology when not indicated and better cheaper options are avaialable.
