Take 1 tab PO (Latin for Per Os)= by mouth, or oral administration. BID = twice daily.
PO means by mouth
q means every (for example: qday = every day; q6h = every 6 hours)
qid means 4 times a day
Other commonly used abbreviations include BID (twice a day) and TID (3 times a day).
however qid is no longer a recommended way of giving orders because it is easily confused with similar abbreviations

These are all correct as far as they go. QID, 4x a day, is OK for most meds. Some others, like antibiotics that say QID, should really say q6h, i.e.6A-12N-6P-12MN. to maintain a constant level of the medication in your blood. Please call your doctor or pharmacist for clarification. Edit by nurse and Pharm.Tech

It's likely that the "T" you're reading is actually the prescription stylized way of writing the number "1". In that case, it's read 1 po bid, and means one by mouth daily.
