It is usually not an indication of heart trouble, however it should be ruled out. There have been cases where the heart is rotated a certain degree causing unusual symptomatology. In the absence of heart irregularity there is a vast array of causal possibilities. A pinching of a nerve in the back or upper arm could also be ruled out.
it probably means you wacked ur funnybone . if not go to hospital I have had this numbing and tingling problem on and off for years when I'm sleeping as well and have found that whenever it starts up again I take "Circulation Blend SP-11B" by Solaray, 2capsules 1 to 3 times a day depending on how severe it is for a few weeks and it goes away for several months before coming back. One can take it always of course to avoid it from coming back. All natural and just helps to circulate blood through the body. Good luck!
The main one to worry about is on the left side which you are more than likely aware of however, some do not know the signs of a heart attack. I would like to ask you a few quetions if I may? Have you suffered a back injury in the past or recently. Have you been typing a lot? Have you suffered any other kind of injury to that part of your body? Have you had headaches? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you have Diabetes? Are you taking any new meds? If you would like to answer these questions that do pertain to you or if not, this is also another way of letting you know that it could be due to any of these questions being answered with a yes. A stroke could also cause numbness in body parts. If you have a doctor please see him or her asap even if you have to go to the ER if the problem gets worse. I am asking these questions so that I could at least tell you if it is something to take seriously or not. Take care and talk soon, Jupiter's Dawn
