Eating things that are not normally considered food may have be due to a nutritional deficiency, but in this instance, the very small amount of nutrients in dried nasal mucus, so the other possibility is something called pica, which is the medical term for the condition of eating non-food items and is in the categories of mental health. Since you are not eating obviously dangerous things like glue, dirt, clay, paper, etc, it should not be a great concern, once you start using 'harder-drugs' so-to-speak, then please talk to someone who may be able to help you, such as a family doctor. Otherwise, you'll probably stop eventually before you go on to harder (no pun) stuff.
