A really low dosage like we have in beverages doesn't have dangerous and permament effects, but if the amount of carbon dioxide is more than oxygen in a sealed room, it causes being poisoned and also your lungs to bleed and to die BEFORE someone in the same room dies because the lack of oxygen.
It does absoloutley nothing, it is our waste from the respiratory system (breathing) that cannot be used.
