depends on if your swimming down deep like to the bottom of an 8 ft pool which causes pressure on your ears to effect your hearing temporally.

but if not its most likely you got water in your ears or its kind of like when you go to a concert and your next to a giant speaker and after your yelling because your not adjusted to normal again. your body adjusts to its environment.
