What can happen if you take ecstasy when you take lamictal for epilepsy?

I definitely wouldn't. I've used Ecstasy multiple times, all while on a daily dosage of lamictal.

The hangover is horrible; while the high is good, the crash you get the next day is the worst experience I've ever had. I believe it's the lamictal that makes it so horrible; it's proven that you shouldn't mix it with illegal drugs.

In one day following the drug you experience extreme mood swings, depression, paranoia, suicidal feelings, etc. No one else seemed to feel that way, so I can only assume it's the medication.

Yes, you can roll!.. (depending on your other med's, that is if you take any others) am taking LAMICTAL (lamotrigine) for EPILEPSY & ecstasy (MDMA) works great for me. not 'AS well' as it did when I was 18, (27 now) but still get all the pleasures w/o being the rolled-out speaker-humping person someone has 2 babysit. Its Not a waste of $$, although you may read that.

But if you're using Lamictal for any MENTAL or MOOD DISORDERS, please read some blogs from those people who had somewhat different experiences. Even though it's cross listed for bipolar, it is NOT an SSRI (which would inhibit the serotonin receptors), such as Zoloft. However SSRNI's like Cymbalta will allow you to roll. Just not as hard as if you don't take anything prescription med's or OTC drugs. Obviously, since almost everything has side effects, however Cannabis makes for a better experience. Smoker, or not, brownies/candies/edibles do the same trick (just takes longer 2 kick in, but lasts longer). It cures any nausea, & calms you down making relaxing fun (but music makes for an extraordinary roll; you can FEEL it, no joke)

But I personally would MISS the connection ecstasy provides than any other substance. It's no wonder the government used it as a therapy technique, to help people let their guard down & help make emotional situations (that typically cause severe anxiety) EASILY manageable. It has brought me & my boyfriend significantly closer. Even after 3 years living together, & 10 years of friendship.
