The 2 main overreaching goals in Healthy People 2010 were:

1. Increased quality and years of healthy life

2. Eliminate health disparities

These goals were to be achieved by 28 leading objectives which were further broke down into approximately 430 individual objectives. However, the top ten leading objectives were as follows:

1. Access to quality halth services

2. Arthritis, osteoporosis, and chronic Back pain

3. Cancer

4. Chronic kidney disease

5. Diabetes

6. Disability and secondary conditions

7. Educational and community-based programs

8. Environmental health

9. Family planning

10. Food safety

This is now all archived information because there are new initiatives and objectives released under the Healthy People 2020 program.
