The main regions of the brain are:
Brain Stem which contains the medulla oblongata, pons and midbrain.
Cerebellum also known as "the little brain".
Diencephalon which contains the thalamus, hypothalamus, and epithalamus.
Cerebrum which is the biggest part of the brain; major areas include the occipital lobe, parietal lobes, temporal lobes, and frontal lobes.
The three main regions of the brain are the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brain stem. The cerebrum is responsible for higher brain functions such as thinking and voluntary actions, the cerebellum is involved in coordination and balance, and the brain stem controls basic life functions like breathing and heart rate.
