The bony segments of the spine is the vertebrae.
The 33 ring-shaped bones of the spine are called the vertebrae.
That could be called a trilogy, although that may refer to a series of three movies. Then again, if the three "parts" of the movie are all seperate movies (eg. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 and 2 were seperate movies) then three parts of a movie could be called a trilogy.
The ribs articulate with the thoracic vertebrae. The thoracic vertebrae also articulate with each other.
The 'spine' or spinal vertebrae, animals with a 'backbone' or spine are called vertebrates.
Vertebrae with several different parts such as: the cervical (at the top), the thoracic (after the cervical), then lumbar( after the thoracic) and to finish it up the coccyx/sacrum

Spinal Cord
The spinal cord is protected by the vertebral column or spinal column. The vertebral column is a collection of individual bones called vertebrae that encase and protect the spinal cord. The vertebral column is divided into three parts: seven cervical (neck) vertebrae at the top, twelve thoracic vertebrae in the midback, and five lumbar vertebrae in the lower back. Below the lumbar vertebrae, but not protecting the spinal cord, are the sacrum and coccyx (tailbone).
The main parts of the vertebrae are the vertebral body, vertebral arch, spinous process, transverse processes, and articular processes. The vertebral body is the thick, disc-shaped central portion, while the vertebral arch extends backward to enclose the spinal cord. The spinous process is the bony projection you can feel down the middle of your back, while the transverse processes extend out from the sides. Lastly, the articular processes form joints with adjacent vertebrae.
