only if it bust open .i should know my busted lip it like a few hours old .i'm 11 and it's true .

i am adding to this answer. im 11 too and when i was 2 years old i had to get plenty of stiches in my mouth because i got pushed out of a van and landed on my face. my now snaggletooth went through my mouth and my mouth split in three pieces. had to get stitches in the hole and where it was split. so yes, if you bust it open bad enough, you may have to get stitches, but if it is not really that bad and there isn't anything really wrong with it , you wont have to

You want to immediately apply ice to avoid swelling. Depending on the size of the laceration and the amount of the drainage (blood) a medical professional may need to apply sutures to close it.
