Any prescribed drug must be signed off by a doctor in the first instance. In general, you must make an appointment and see your GP every time you want a prescription again. However, for longer term conditions, or where you may be on numerous medications, your GP may decide to put your medicines 'on repeat': this means that you can simply call your surgery to request the prescription again without having to see the doctor.

It's best to contact your regular surgery to check whether the medication you want is on repeat, or whether the GP would be willing to dispense your medication on repeat without seeing you.

Of course. You pay for any prescription you receive unless your insurance pays 100% of the cost.

Can you be a doctor if you repeat a grade?

Can a doctor write 2 months worth of controlled substance prescriptions?

Technically, sometimes. A doctor may be permitted to prescribe >2 months of dose in some situations, and can issue a repeat prescription if necessary (this means the person goes in every month with the same script, rather than getting a large amount of medicine at once or a new script every time).

Do medicine go bad after expiration date?

It doesn't necessarily 'go bad' - however - the potency of the medicine can fade over time. This makes the medicine less effective than a 'fresh' batch. If you need more medication after the expiry date - ask your doctor for a repeat prescription - and take the 'leftovers' from the previous batch to your pharmacist for disposal.

How many times you will take penicillin in one day cause you have skin rashes?

You should not take penicillin for skin rashes. No antibiotic should be taken without the advice of the doctor. When your doctor prescribe you penicillin, he will invariably advice the dose and frequency also. Even a single dose of penicillin can give you allergic rash. When you are allergic to penicillin, you must mention the same thing, every time you visit the doctor. Repeat the same thing whenever he will prepare the injection for you or write down the prescription. Do not worry, even if that may irritate him.
