Warfarin is a blood thinner and while it reduces your risk of getting a heart attack (blood thinners help prevent clots in the arteries, like low doses of aspirin) it does NOT reduce bad cholesterol. Stains (i.e. Zocor, which is simvastatin, or Lipitor). There are some statins that raise your HDL AND reduce your LDL. And if you have liver problems, you have to be careful using statins (discuss with your doctors) and your doctor may prescribe Zetia, which also reduces your LDL through a different means.

Mixing these medications with warafin can cause excessive bleeding, the best thing is to contact the doctor who prescribed the warafin as I am not a doctor .
