Is it possible to get addicted to Ibuprofen I take about 5-7 daily without needing them. I take them when I feel depressed. Am I addicted?

it is true u can get addicted to it as well as the simple things in life. I am a pharmasist tech n I could tell u tht Its mainly to numn the pain out of ur head if u were prescribed for headaces. what I would recomemd is stop taking them if u do not need them because of side effects and increase water intake, vegitables, vitimins that hlp with ur brain, ask ur pharmasist about vitimins that r good for ur brain health, and what I do, I work out the head pain by running up my hill or lifting weights or something tht wiould get me to sweat (it helps better then the ibupropen 600 mg I use to take). dont take ibuprofen as wanted just take it as needes nexauseits still a drug whether ur gettimg the rx, beind the counter or an otc, over the counter.

Personally I don't think it is possible to detect the levels of all neurotransmitters, because they are constantly being altered , except on a depressed person in which serotonin normal level drops to a lower one. But there is no needing to determine its level because a psychiatrist can tell when a person is depressed.

FDA has approved Tylenol for under 6 months. No good studies have been done to see if Ibuprofen/Motrin is safe. It should be and if kiddo is over 2 months, and has a fever with a source (know from where) then Ibuprofen should be fine if Tylenol isn't quite enough. Under 2 months -- you need to be checked by an MD as may have a serious bacterial infection needing possible advanced ER/Hospital care.
