It is fine to take an anti-inflammatory medicine with lisinopril. Remember that naproxen and other anti-inflammatory drugs are harsh on the stomach. Have some food before you take naproxen. Don't take naproxen closer than every 12 hours without a doctor's orders.

Obviously some doctors think so, as my doctor just switched my BP meds from atenolol and dyazide to propranolol, lisinopril and dyazide (fluid pill). I have a tremor which has gotten worse over the past 2 years (in that time I was caregiver for my mom with dementia in the last 2 years of her life. While caring for her I left my job. Now that she is at peace I have to get back to work. It has been a very stressful 2 to 3 years, which is why I believe the tremor became so severe). The propranolol is a beta blocker and is prescribed for the tremor and HBP. The lisinopril is for the HBP. It has been almost a week and I am not feeling well at all. My average BP is 130/98 (sometimes a bit higher, sometimes a bit lower). I have Asthma and my breathing has been horrible, I get short of breath very easily, at nite I hear a buzzing in my head, I haven't been sleeping well and the tremor is still there. I am told it takes 2 to 3 weeks for these drugs to hit their potential. The question for me is that when you go through the changes to get stabilized on HBP drugs, how far do you let the symptoms go until you go to the ER. And I know there is no set answer for this question. As for your question, YES you can take these 2 drugs together. And the reason is that they both bring your BP down but they each work on different parts of your brain (different receptors). For instance if I take too much propranolol I get very tired/no energy but it helps the tremor. So to remedy this I will take as little propranolol as possible and hopefully the lisinopril will kick in and take my BP down. Good Luck to both of us.
