It really depends. If you had a deep tissue massage and then went for a hot shower it wouldn't do much except for make you really tired. If you had a massage to work out tense muscles and went for a hot shower, you would be fine. But if you had either of those and went for a cold shower, you could be at risk for damage as cold showers generally make people tense up and then you're much more likely to pull, tear, or rip something. Also if your massage therapist/whoever you went to used any sort of oil, ointment, numbing cream, or anything else that could be washed away with water it may be a good idea to refrain from showering until at least the day after, as your skin will need time to heal from being rubbed so much and the muscle will benefit from being able to absorb whatever else is on your skin.
