Well, honey, OHIP covers medically necessary procedures, and removing an infected cyst would likely fall under that category. But you might want to check with your doctor or OHIP directly to make sure you're not left with a surprise bill. Don't let that pesky cyst ruin your day or your wallet!

In Ontario, OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) typically covers medically necessary procedures, including the removal of infected cysts. However, coverage may vary depending on the specific circumstances and the physician's assessment of medical necessity. It is recommended to consult with a healthcare provider or OHIP directly to confirm coverage for a specific case.

I have one on my ear right now that got so big over night and hurts like hell. The first time I had the cyst checked out the Dr said OHIP dosn't cover the procedure and now once again its infected. I've payed tax my whole life and the first time I need something, the system lets me down. I'll bet if I was on welfare it would have been cut out the first time.
