Yes Raticate is not a half bad Pokemon but it has pretty bad defenses. It also has some bad special attack but it has some really good speed and ok attack PS: Furret and Tauros are both really good aswell!

Maybe because it is almost the middle of the year and some people feel like they have lived through half a year and life has been nothing but bad so they want to commit suicide. Not a real good answer but its my guess!!
