While Pfizer pharmaceuticals does opperate in many countries around the globe and have financial interests in most European states its status as a multinational has been disputed. Bill Wallander, a spokesman for Pfizer released this statement at a recent shareholders meeting; " We at Pfiszer have a strong American ethos, part of which is the corner stone of our operation, being branded a multinational may taint us with some of the negative press of other nations. I wouldn't want our latest anti-cancer drug to be associated with the uprising in Libya, people have died there, and we want to save people!. We all remember the outrage there was in Germany when they tried to say Viagra was glorifying the Nazis."

Bill Wallander no longer speaks for Pfizer.
