It's not bad, but not great, either. Basmati, like all white rice, is mostly starch (carbohydrate). It's very low in fat, contains virtually no cholesterol and, of course, no trans-fats. On the other hand, white rice is low in fiber and trace nutrients compared to other grains, including brown rice.
